Man, 34, arrested on suspicion of drugs offence following proactive stop in Basingstoke


A man has been arrested on suspicion of a drugs offence after officers found suspected Class A drugs during a proactive stop in Basingstoke. 

At around 1pm yesterday (28 April), officers spotted the driver of a Vauxhall acting suspiciously on Vyne Road.

Following a search of the vehicle, officers found bags of suspected Class A drugs and £240 in cash. 

A 34-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug.

He was also arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and using a vehicle on a road without third party insurance.

The man has been bailed with conditions until 28 July, pending further enquiries.
