Hi all,
You may have noticed some police activity in Wickham, yesterday (Thursday 16 November).
Officers received a call to say that cannabis plants in different stages of growth had been found in a house in Tanfield Lane.
We found plants in many of the rooms in the house, as well as hydroponics and lighting equipment. There was evidence that modifications had been made to the electrical supply.
An electrician came to make the building safe, and the plants and equipment have been seized.
An investigation is underway.
We take the issue of cannabis factories really seriously because they are often linked to organised crime groups. The modifications to electricity supply can be a serious fire hazard.
If you have information about drug-related activity, please let us know by calling 101 or via our website. The information you provide helps us develop the bigger picture that leads us to take action and remove drugs from the streets.
