Man charged in connection with shoplifting offences in Shirley

A Southampton man has been charged with shoplifting and burglary offences following incidents in Shirley and the city centre.


Shortly before 10am on Thursday 30 November police were called to the Co-op store on Shirley High Street following a report that £72 worth of meat had been stolen.



Officers attended and arrested a man at the store. On his arrest, bank cards suspected to have been stolen in a burglary on London Road the day before (Wednesday 29 November) were located in his possession.


The man, 27-year-old Ryan James Harvey of Landguard Road, has now been charged with burglary and theft. He is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 1 December).
