Community Priority Monthly Update

Good Evening,

As many of you will be aware we are currently tackling non dwelling burglary offences as our Community Priority. More specifically, we are seeking to disrupt offences which are managed under Operation Rebate. These offences see non dwelling burglaries to outbuildings and commercial properties seeking to steal tools and garden machinery.

Previous years have seen a rise in this offending type just prior to and post the Christmas period. In response to this priority we have planned and continue to execute a series of proactive operations between ourselves, the Countrywatch team and our Road Policing Unit. These operations will continue as often as possible and have a specific focus on catch and convict.

We are happy to report that we are currently seeing very little offending in the Hart North area. As well as our proactive operations we are providing a visual presence within our rural areas during the hours of darkness. This seeks to act as a deterrent to those potential offenders as well as a response to any crimes which may be reported as in progress.

You can support our efforts by reporting suspicious activity. You can report this via 101 or online at our website, www.hampshire.police.uk. If you suspect a crime to be in progress or you are in fear for your safety then please call 999.

We shall provide a further update at the end of January. In the meantime, we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
