Man, 39, charged with shoplifting in Aldershot


A man has been charged with shoplifting after items worth more than £350 were stolen from stores in Aldershot.

Ryan Gibbs, 39, of no fixed abode, has been charged with five counts of theft from a shop.

It comes after officers received reports that household goods, handbags, trainers and alcohol worth £369.33 were stolen from Lidl, Co-Op, Bargain Buys and New Look between 22 May and 27 June.

Gibbs appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court on Saturday 29 June and pleaded guilty to all offences.

He was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates tomorrow (2 July).
