DOGS, DRIVER AND DINNER

A busy day for Gosport Central's Beat Team today involving dogs, a driver and dinner.

We had the assistance of the RSPCA in a Gosport address today. Police were at the address dealing with another matter which has now been resolved, whilst at the address however it was noted that there were a number of pets that were lacking the appropriate food and care. Officers from the RSPCA joined us at the address and deemed that the environment should be better but that they were in general good health, the adults have been served papers by the RSPCA and will visited frequently over the weeks and months to come. 🐶

One of our eagle eyed PCSO’s spotted a male known to us at the wheel of a car that had driven past them. They are known not to have a driving licence and as such they would not have had insurance to drive the car. A search ensued and the vehicle was found nearby but with no-one in it. Arrangements were made to have the vehicle recovered but in the mean-time the registered keeper of the vehicle arrived and as per policy it was ‘recovered’ to them. A fee payment was still required and the driver will receive a summons in the post and will be required to go to court.

Two of the Central Team popped into Morrisons (other food outlets are available) for their dinner later in the evening when their attention was drawn to a kerfuffle in the freezer isle where staff and customers guided them to a female who had been stopped by security for shoplifting. Sure enough three bottles of alcohol were found to have been prepped for leaving the store. The items were returned to the store and the females details were taken and checked prior to her being reported and advised that she will receive a summons for court. You will be glad to hear that the officers were able to continue on with getting their dinner. 🍽️

Also this evening we have returned the bike, we circulated at the weekend, to its very happy owner. Whilst on the subject of bikes please put a ‘save the date’ in your diaries for Saturday the 3rd of August from 11:00hrs we will be cycle coding in the open space outside the Discovery Centre in Gosport. If you are bringing your bike/s it will save a bit of time if you could make a note of the frame number from the location as shown in the photo. Hope to see you there. 👍🏼
