Back to school!

Good afternoon,

You are receiving this email because you are shown as a teacher, or parent on our ‘Alerts Account’.  My apologies if this message is not relevant to you because your children are too grown up etc.  If you know anyone else who has small children and you think they might find this useful, please forward it on to them.

If you are a teacher / work within a school, could you consider asking this information to be sent home to parents please?

Please also let me know how useful this email has been by using the voting buttons- I review all feedback to try to ensure my emails are useful- please let me know if there is anything you want to see more of / less of.

It has become popular to take photos of our children, in their school uniform, on front door steps, and share with loved ones on the first day of school, as this is just around the corner this alert is just to bring to your attention the information you may unknowingly be giving out if you choose to share the photo on social media.

Information that could be obtained from one photos:

How many children you have

How many children reside in an address

Children's names and ages

Children's school

Your front door

Time the photos was taken

Individually, these pieces of information might not appear capable of much, but combined they are far too informative as it provides a lot of information about your children, and could even allow someone to identify your house address, or your children's school.

If you do choose to share these sweet photos of your children, please double check that your security settings are as high as possible.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Kind Regards

Annette
