'Clever Never Goes', the 'new' Stranger Danger

Good afternoon Resident,

You are receiving this alert because you are shown as either a teacher, parent or student within Hampshire Alerts.

On my arrival into work today whilst reviewing reports over the last 24 hours I saw one where a parent reported that 2 children felt they had been followed on their way into school; happily it was confirmed that this was not the case by the responding officer who was able to make use of local CCTV which captured the specific concern; reporting this to us so promptly was the best course of action though- it enabled a prompt response, local CCTV to be captured and reviewed and parents concerns to be reassured.

 Clever Never Goes – Safe4Me

The above link takes you to ‘Safe4Me’, which provides many resources to help parents and schools look after our children.  Whilst we don't call it “Stranger Danger” anymore, we promote the “Clever Never Goes” message.  In summary, it encourages children to gain some independence, and to recognise when someone is asking them to go with them, as often people known to children can pose the greatest threat.

Please let me know if you use any of the resources and what you think of them, there is a section for both Parents and Schools.

If you have any queries please let me know,

Kind Regards

Annette
