Today at 0320 on Hurst Avenue there was an attempted theft from a motor vehicle. 

Today we have conducted inquiries in the area to help obtain any footage around this time, if you have any footage or saw anything around this time please call 101 quoting ref. 44240451331.

Officers will be conducting patrols in and around the area please approach if you have any further information to give. 

Here is some advice for consideration;  

-Don't leave anything on display in your vehicle.

-Take all your personal possessions with you.

-Do not hide any valuable items. Take it with you or leave it at home.

-Leave the glove box open to show there's nothing inside.

-Do not store ownership documents inside the vehicle.

-When parking at home, use your garage. If you don't have a garage, park in a well-lit area if possible.

-Upon locking your vehicle test the door to ensure it is definitely locked.
