Man, 35, sentenced after breaching restraining order

SENTENCED: A 35-year-old man from New Milton has been sentenced after pleading guilty to breaching a restraining order earlier this year.

Oliver David Mayled, of Davis Field, appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court last Friday (10 October).

At the hearing, he was fined £200 and must also now pay £85 in costs and an £80 victim surcharge.

The sentencing follows an incident on Sunday 2 June, during which Mayled was walking in an area of New Milton, contrary to the conditions of his restraining order.

The breach of the order came just four days after it had first been imposed, on Wednesday 29 May.

A/PS Sam Chapman, of New Milton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Restraining orders are put in place for a reason, and that is to protect victims from further harm.

“Anyone who chooses to breach their restraining order will be dealt with accordingly and brought before the courts, as was the case here with Mayled.

“Mayled believed he could continue doing what he wanted, without any consequences, but that wasn’t the case, as he has now found out.”
