Patrols in South Wight

Hi Resident

If you find this information helpful please “rate” this message at the bottom (very quick and simple).

PCSO Webb and Sgt Sharland completed an E-Bike Patrol of Sandown and Lake last night .We clocked 10 miles as we patrolled the Hot Spots for Drug use/supply, Anti-Social Behaviour and Vehicle nuisance.

You have used the https://survey.hampshirealert.co.uk/ to identify the top three priorities for Sandown, Lake, Shanklin and Ventnor – we have launched three Operations to deliver on your priorities:

-    Operation Sidlaw – to tackle vehicle related Anti-Social behaviour and road safety
-    Operation Antidote – to disrupt drug use and supply
-    Operation Spider – to maintain reductions in Anti-Social behaviour

Earlier this week, on Operation Sidlaw Patrols, PCSO Webb and PCSO May successfully intervened with vehicles doing ‘Burn Outs’ in Fort Street car park, Sandown – Section 59 Notices were issued and a driver was reported for driving offences.

Whilst on Op Antidote Patrols on Friday, PCSO Downing and PC Carey stopped a vehicle in Ventnor which led to the stop and search of 3 males and the arrest of a 20 year old male from Newport on suspicion of possession of Class B Controlled Drug’s and Driving whilst unfit through Drugs – the male has since been released on bail and the investigation is ongoing.

Have a great week –

All the Best

Sgt Sharland
