Man, 35, arrested after items worth more than £1,000 were stolen from Andover shop


A man has today been arrested after items worth more than £1,000 were stolen from a shop in Andover.

Officers received reports that perfume worth £1,019 was stolen from the Boots store in the Chantry Centre on Thursday 3 October.

We also received a report that a sack truck was stolen from outside a property in Calder Court on 22 September.

Since the incidents were reported to us, officers have carried out a number of enquiries and made an arrest earlier today.

A 35-year-old man from Andover was arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop and theft.

He remains in custody while our enquiries continue.
