Police investigate series of burglaries and car breaks in Stubbington & Gosport


We’re investigating a series of burglaries and car break-ins which have occurred around the Stubbington and Gosport areas.

 

These incidents include:

 

  • A burglary at a house in Nicholas Avenue, Gosport, between midnight and 5.30am on Monday 4 November. Rings, cash, and some airsoft equipment were stolen.
  • A burglary at a house in Gosport Road, Stubbington – this is believed to have occurred some time between 12.25am and 5.45am yesterday morning (4 November). Jewellery was reported stolen.
  • A burglary at a house in Village Close, Stubbington, some time overnight on Sunday 3 November into Monday 4 November. A purse was stolen, and a car on the driveway was searched, however nothing was stolen from the car.
  • Two further reports of cars being entered and searched, with nothing stolen, in Village Close, Stubbington, overnight on 3 November into the early hours of 4 November.
  • A suspicious incident at around 3.30am in Northways, Stubbington, in which a man with a torch was seen peering into a car. The car wasn’t entered.

    Enquiries are ongoing to identify the person, or people, responsible for these incidents, and officers will also be undertaking targeted patrols around affected areas.

     

    We encourage residents to check their vehicles, in addition to their doors and windows in their homes, to ensure they are securely locked. 

     

    If you have any information at all – whether this be CCTV or doorbell footage, or you witnessed or heard anything suspicious in these areas around this time – please contact police on 101, quoting Operation Inquisitive.
