Witness appeal following altercation in Basingstoke


We are appealing for witnesses and information following a report of an altercation in Basingstoke last night.

Officers were called at 11.03pm on Thursday 7 November to a report that two women in their 40s had been hit by a car on Bennet Close.

One of them suffered a serious injury to her knee and the other suffered a serious injury to her ankle. Both women were taken to hospital to receive treatment.

It was also reported that two women in their 30s had been assaulted. One suffered injuries to her face.

Officers attended the scene and arrested a 34-year-old woman from Basingstoke on suspicion of attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

She remains in custody while our enquiries continue.

Officers have launched an investigation and are still trying to piece together exactly what took place last night. We are appealing for witnesses who may be able to help with our enquiries.
