You Said – We Did!

Hi  Resident

If you find this information helpful please “rate” this message at the bottom (very quick and simple).

Using the LetsTalk survey (Link at bottom of post) our local residents have asked us to make the roads safer in Sandown, Lake, Shanklin and Ventnor. PC Carey has led our response with Operation Sidlaw and part of this Operation has been to work with our schools to help the next generation to get involved in making their community a safer place to live, work and learn.

Sir Robert Peel said – “The Police are the Public and the Public are the Police”, a founding principle of our system of Policing by Consent. In the spirit of this sentiment, we handed the Speed Detection device’s over to these amazing pupils from Broadlea Primary School.

Vehicle’s caught speeding past their school were stopped by the Neighbourhoods Policing team and the drivers were given the option to have an educational input from the Pupils around the dangers of speeding or to receive some paperwork from a Police Officer.

The Children were incredible, such enthusiasm and passion with a lasting impact on the drivers they spoke with. We were very proud to be working alongside them and I would like to extend a heartfelt Thanks to everyone at Broadlea Primary School and especially the children and parents for supporting this Operation.

All the Best

Sgt Sharland
