Witness appeal after report of suspicious incident in Andover

Officers are appealing for witnesses following a report of a suspicious incident in Andover.

We received a report that a man was acting suspiciously and making inappropriate comments to a woman in her 50s on Weyhill Road, near the Denning Mead junction, at 9.15pm on Saturday 9 November.

The woman took her phone out of her pocket and the man, who was on a bicycle, rode off. The man then hid in a bush and made another inappropriate comment as the woman walked past.

The woman reported the incident to the police as soon as she got home. No injuries were reported but the woman felt scared and intimidated throughout the incident.

Since this was reported to us, officers have been carrying out a number of enquiries and are appealing for any information.

The man has been described as being aged between 25 and 30, 6ft tall, Asian, of slim build, with short dark hair and a dark moustache. He was wearing dark clothing and was riding a bicycle.

Were you in the area at the time? Did you see a man matching the description riding a bike? Did you witness any suspicious behaviour?

Anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting 44240489261.
