Hedge End, West End & Botley

Good Evening Resident I’m back!

Yesterday late shift was my first shift back out on patrol, I am now into my 19th year as a PCSO. I was out on my bike on high visibility patrol until just before midnight, I patrolled in and around a number of hotspots. While on patrol I came across 3 young people sat on the steps blocking the entrance to St Luke’s Pharmacy, surrounded by a lot of litter. As I asked them to move a rucksack that was left in the middle of the pavement I heard glass inside, so I started to explain I have the power to search for alcohol and things quickly went south. It ended up with me being assaulted (pushed) and the young people ran off. Inside the bag were 2 large bottles of vodka, which I poured down the drain in St Lukes Close and recorded this on my body worn video. My thanks to the pharmacy who were lovely in helping to clear up the rubbish and dispose of all the empty bottle and containers. I now know the identity of all 3 young people and the young man with the vodka was 13 years old. He will be dealt with for assaulting an emergency worker.

We are aware of a core group of young people involved in antisocial behaviour and criminal activity and the whole team are working hard to target them. If you see young people behaving antisocially, please call 101 and let the call taker know this is happening now – if we can get there and deal with this, we will. If there is a crime in progress or immediate threat of violence call 999 and give as much detail as you can.

Last night I also got some good drugs intelligence from being out on my bike and gave out an Escooter warning out, after ensuring the male had not already had a warning (otherwise his Escooter would have been seized)

I’ve been back out today on my bike on high visibility patrol in the North beats and done 11 miles so far (the map and photos are from today) I will be dealing with whatever I find during my bike patrol. Obviously being on a bike I will inevitably come across Escooters easily, so please expect to be dealt with in line with the law and Hampshire policy (warning on 1st contact, seized on 2nd contact) if you ride an illegal Escooter.

PCSO Mica Woodcock 12948.
