Why am I in Nottingham?

I'm here at the Neighbourhood Alert Summit and one of the guest speakers is our very own Chief Superintendent Jenkins (pictured), who gave an overview of the positive impact the LetsTalk initiative has had in giving our Communities a voice in local Policing. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has been held up as a great example of using LetsTalk positively with special mention for the Isle of Wight (Work led by PCSO May from South Wight NPT).

The summit has been a wonderful opportunity to share good practice in delivering Neighbourhoods Policing and I have taken lots of great ideas from peers from Constabularies across England & Wales and Police Scotland; which I am keen to put to good use here on the Island.

I have also been very proud to share our own good practise in reducing ASB in partnership with Operation Spider - leading to a 49% reduction is ASB between 2021 and 2024 and more importantly; diverting many young people into meaningful diversion with Community Action IW.
