Yesterday (Monday 25 November), officers executed another proactive drugs warrant, this time at an address on New Road, Blackfield. The Section. 23 Misuse of Drugs Act warrant resulted in one arrest and the seizure of approximately 200 cannabis plants. Involved in the operation were officers from Waterside Neighbourhood Policing Team, the Neighbourhood Enforcement Team and New Forest Priority Crime Team. Following the warrant, Sergeant Andy Gwyer, of the New Forest Priority Crime Team, said: “Yesterday, we acted upon intelligence received, and we will continue to respond to information shared with us, wherever possible. “Please continue to keep us updated on any suspected criminality in the Waterside area, so we can keep carrying out proactive operations such as the one yesterday.” On the importance of the public’s assistance, Sergeant Gwyer, said: “We will always look to tackle drug-related activity in our communities, but we can only do so with the support and information of those who live in the affected areas. “As our eyes and ears on the ground, please continue to let us know about activity in the areas in which you live, so we can continue to be relentless in our pursuit of suspected criminals. “The more information you share with us, the more we can develop this, and the more action we can take, including the execution of warrants and the targeting of suspected criminals causing the most harm to our communities." Anyone who has any information about drug-related activity in their neighbourhood can contact us on 101, or report online via the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary website, always calling 999 in an emergency. https://www.hampshire.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/af/how-to-report-a-crime/ Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111. | ||||
