A man has appeared in court after he was charged with a number of offences following reports that money had been stolen from tills in Basingstoke. It comes after officers received reports that a man had stolen cash from the till inside Co-op store on Broadmere Road and had attempted to steal cash from Sainsbury’s fuel station on Wallop Drive on Saturday 9 November. Officers also received reports that a man had stolen cash from Co-op on Kings Road on Saturday 16 November and that a Lacoste jacket had been stolen from Sports Direct in Above Bar Street in Southampton on Sunday 24 November. A man was arrested in Southampton on Sunday 24 November. Thomas Lloyd, 33, of Mercer Way, Romsey, was charged with three counts of burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal and theft from a shop. He was also charged with two counts of breaching a criminal behaviour order. Lloyd appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court yesterday (26 November) and was remanded into custody. He is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Tuesday 3 December. | ||||
