Online Safety

Today #PCLewis and #PCSODave visited All Saints C.E (A) Junior School in Fleet to give an input on Online Safety following an invitation from Mr Patton, a year 6 teacher.  This input will sit alongside the schools PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) programme.  The input was for the year 6 (10 to 11 year olds) who will be heading off to Secondary school next September.  The school held an assembly for all 140 pupils and I’m told the silence on entering the assembly was very impressive from such a large audience.  We covered the topics of Cyber Bullying and what happens to any pictures you may send on line and the types of pictures you should and more importantly what you should NOT send.  The children engaged very well with us and hopefully feel better informed.  As we all know, being online can be a dangerous place which is why it is vitally important that we ensure future generations can be online but safely.  If, as a parent, educator or service provider, you need further information or guidance, please use the following link www.safe4me.co.uk.  I would like to thank all the children for their time today and I hope to visit myself next time.  #PCTerry
