Operation Footprint - ASB in Yateley

Good afternoon!

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve introduced Operation Footprint – an initiative geared towards the residents of Yateley seeing their officers on foot patrol. This is aimed at our community seeing us more throughout the village centre, engaging with our shops and their staff, and targeting antisocial behaviour and those involved in it.

From November onwards we’re hoping you’ve seen our conceited efforts in trying to stomp the beat more, whether you’re a shopworker providing a service to Yateley, a resident visiting for supplies, or a visitor to our wonderful area. Our Neighbourhood Policing Team have been protected from other deployments to support this operation to get them out on the beat instead of being abstracted to other areas of Policing, and officers from other parts of the Force have also been brought in to assist when our team are off duty.

We’ve spoken to councillors at length to show them the statistics and the hotspots, and been given their approval to our patrol plan as they represent their constituents. We’ve identified patterns in reports on particular days and times to tailor our patrols to when they matter most.

We’ve also been working alongside Hart Community Safety Partnership to actively deal with those involved in antisocial behaviour, not only by investigating the incidents caused but also by offering diversion to perpetrators and giving support to people affected. Hart CSP have also assisted in administering Acceptable Behaviour Contracts to two people, as well as bans from stores including Greggs, Sainsbury’s and One Stop.

We’ll be continuing Operation Footprint into the New Year in the hope that it has a positive effect on how YOU feel about your local Police, showing you that we care about what matters to you in our community.

Stay safe,

PC 27999 Ben Blundell,

Designated Neighbourhood Officer for Yateley, Blackwater and Hawley.
