A man has been jailed for 20 months after officers found more than 5kg of cannabis in Aldershot. Officers were patrolling the town centre on Sunday 21 July and spotted suspicious drug-related activity on Gordon Road. A quantity of cannabis was located nearby. During a subsequent search of a related property, officers found more than 3kg of cannabis, as well as bags of suspected cocaine and cash. Hasan Kurti, 25, of Lysons Road, Aldershot, was arrested at the scene. He was later charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of Class B. Kurti pleaded guilty to both offences at Winchester Crown Court and was jailed for a total of 20 months yesterday (16 December). Detective Constable Chloe Walker, from Hart and Rushmoor CID, said: “Officers found a considerable amount of cannabis and cocaine following proactive police work in Aldershot. “We take drug activity in the district extremely seriously and this sentence means another drug dealer will be locked up for a significant period of time. “I hope the result highlights that our officers will do everything in their power to ensure Hart and Rushmoor is not targeted by drugs networks. “Drug supply causes harm and misery to our communities but our officers are determined to keep relentlessly pursuing criminals to reduce the negative impact they have, making it safe for everyone.” | ||||
