Update on local policing operation in Thornhill, Southampton

 Afternoon everyone,

We just wanted to let you know that the Sholing & Bitterne Neighbourhood Policing Team have been out in Thornhill today on a proactive policing operation targeting criminality and anti-social behaviour in the area based on reports received from the public.

As a result, we arrested two 17-year-old boys from Southampton in connection with a shed burglary on Tatwin Crescent last month. They remain in police custody at the current time as we continue our enquiries.

Officers also seized a motorbike suspected to be stolen on Marston Road, and arrested a 19-year-old man from Winchester on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and various other driving offences. He remains in police custody at the current time.

We also arrested a man on suspicion of failing to appear at court.

It was great to speak to local residents as we were out and about - we are always happy to hear your concerns so that we can take the appropriate action.

To let us know more about what impacts you, please take a look at our Let's Talk survey - this aims to help us understand the needs of our local communities and enables you to share any concerns you have.

We want to know what it’s like to live in your area – what issues do you face? This will help us figure out how we can work with others to make you feel safer.
