A man has been arrested after officers found more than £1,000 in cash and suspected Class A drugs in Basingstoke yesterday.

Officers were carrying out patrols when they noticed suspicious behaviour linked to a black Mercedes in the Leisure Park at 1.30pm on Monday 6 January.

Following a search, officers found suspected Class A drugs and £1,165 in cash.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A and acquiring / using / possessing criminal property.

He was also arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and using a vehicle without third party insurance.

The man has been bailed with conditions, pending further enquiries.
