A man has been charged with five offences after a Co-Op in Liphook was broken into. We received a report that on Sunday 12 January, between 6:45am and 7:00am, a man had threated staff at the Co-Op store on Headley Road, before later returning and smashing the doors to gain entry.
He then caused serious damage to the store, including the tills and a large quantity of alcohol, cigarettes and scratch card stock.
Officers attended and the man resisted arrest, assaulting an officer in the process.
The officer was not injured.
Aigars Bundulis, 53, of Headley Road in Liphook, has subsequently been arrested and charged with burglary, common assault of an emergency worker, affray, going equipped for burglary and criminal damage to property valued over £5000.
He has been remanded into custody to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on Monday 10 February. | ||||
