Enjoy your dog walks

National animal welfare charities are joining forces with the police and National Rural Crime Unit to raise awareness and help tackle the issue of livestock worrying while keeping our pets safe.

Livestock worrying is when a dog attacks or chases livestock on agricultural land or is at large in a field with livestock, which can result in injury, suffering or in the worst cases, death of the animals involved. It is a criminal offence for a dog to actively worry livestock and dog owners risk prosecution. For more information visit our website.

    Registering and Marking Property

Christmas was a few weeks ago now, but it’s not too late to protect your gifts and new purchases. You can do this by registering items for free on the national property database, Immobilise. It’s also a good time to review items you have already registered, removing any you no longer own and making sure your contact details are up to date.

For advice on using property marking kits and selecting the right one for your items you can take a look at the Property Marking Guide created by Secured by Design.

    CrimeStoppers campaign

Crimestoppers are running a campaign across Hampshire focusing on signs to spot that drug gangs are exploiting vulnerable people: Warning: Vulnerable people are targeted, groomed & exploited by drug gangs | Crimestoppers

Organised drug gangs exploiting young people and vulnerable adults is an increasing problem. Often the public or friends and families of those drawn into their activities are unaware of what signs to look out for that it is happening.

The campaign emphasises how to pass on what you know 100% anonymously.

Tell Crimestoppers what you know by calling 0800 555 111 at any time or by completing a secure online form or via Fearless.org for young people where more can also be learnt about the warning signs of drug gang activity. With Fearless.org and Crimestoppers-uk.org, computer IP addresses are never traced and no one will ever know you contacted them. Calls can never be traced.

    Local Bobbies

It has been a year since the Local Bobby scheme was launched to reconnect the public with their local Bobby on the beat.

Who’s your local police officer? You can find their name, email and telephone number by using the link below.

    Just enter your postcode here:
