Good morning, Portsmouth,
With the New Year now firmly underway, I would like to provide you with an update on our local area plans for 2025.
I want to take this opportunity to discuss the year ahead for Portsea and Landport, which PC 28231 HAVILAND and I are responsible for as your local bobbies, alongside PCSO 18506 GIBSON-FORD as your local PCSO. The priorities in the picture below reflect the issues that you have highlighted to us through Hampshire Alert’s community surveys. Do you agree with these? If not, we encourage you to have your say on the Hampshire Alerts website, which you can access by going to this link: https://survey.hampshirealert.co.uk/.
Our two primary areas of concern are Drug-Related Issues and Anti-Social Behaviour, which often go hand in hand. We are currently focusing on two operations to address these issues, which are as follows: • Operation Slipped: This operation targets the supply of drugs into Portsmouth Central via vehicles. Using intelligence and tools like ANPR, we actively stop and search vehicles suspected of distributing drugs, often those that are travelling from outside the county. This can involve uniformed officers, and plain clothes. • Operation Dependant: Focused on tackling the importation of drugs into our area from other countries, this operation involves collaboration with Border Force. We will provide more details as this operation progresses.
We will keep you updated on the progress of these operations throughout the year through Facebook and Hampshire Alerts posts.
Aside from dedicated operations like those detailed above, most of our time is spent patrolling our area, whether that is on foot, on bike or in a vehicle. We are often spending time within our local communities, whether that is youth clubs, schools, community hubs, or engaging with our local stores. Any reports that you make to us regarding Anti-Social Behaviour are closely monitored and support the planning of our patrol plans, so please continue to report this to us. We also encourage you to come and speak to us if you see us on patrol or attend one of our advertised Beat Surgeries.
Thank you for your continued support throughout 2024, we look forward to working together into this year to keep Portsmouth safe.
Stay safe, PC 28453 EVANS - Portsea Beat Bobby PC 28231 HAVILAND - Landport Beat Bobby |
