A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug and knife offences following a proactive stop in Basingstoke yesterday. Officers were on patrol when they noticed suspicious activity linked to a grey Hyundai car on Greenkeepers Avenue at around 4pm on 27 January. Following a search, officers located suspected Class A drugs, a zombie knife, digital scales and £115 in cash. All items, including a mobile phone, were seized. A 42-year-old man from Basingstoke was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A and possessing a controlled drug of Class A. He was also arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs and driving with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit. The man remains in custody while our enquiries continue. | ||||
