A drug dealer has been jailed after officers found cocaine and £1,000 in cash following a proactive stop in Aldershot.

Asmirald Abazi, 24, of Alric Avenue, London, was driving a Skoda car when he was stopped on High Street, Aldershot, at around 2am on 28 September 2023.

The vehicle was searched and officers found suspected Class A drugs and £1,000 in cash.

Abazi was arrested and bailed with conditions while officers carried out a number of enquiries. He then failed to return from bail in May 2024.

He was then located by officers during a proactive stop in Chineham, Basingstoke, on 5 September 2024 and was charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A.

Abazi pleaded guilty to the offence and was jailed for 30 months at Winchester Crown Court yesterday (30 January). The court also imposed a forfeiture order for £1,000 to be paid to charity, as well as the destruction of drugs, paraphernalia and a mobile phone.
