We are looking for new volunteers to join our Independent Advisory Group (IAG) in Test Valley. The group meets between four and six times a year, at various locations, to review and challenge policing practices in a constructive way.
There will be an opportunity to 'ride along' with officers to better understand operational policing.
There may also be instances where the IAG members are called to assist with community issues and to give a balanced and objective view of ongoing incidents.
Being a member of the IAG is a small commitment; and you will be able to discuss community matters, audit stop & search forms, and you can help to shape the future of policing in the New Forest.
We are keen for applications from all walks of life so that voices are heard from across the communities we serve. We are also interested in speaking to people from across the community to ensure that diverse groups are represented and English does not have to be your first language.
This helps us improve our service to the public. To join, there are some forms to be filled in, and some standard vetting has to be undertaken, but support can be provided if required.
