This Weekend's Common Land Operation

**If you find this message useful make sure to leave a rating at the bottom – it’s very quick and simple!**

Good morning!

Yesterday officers from Yateley Police Station, alongside our area’s Neighbourhood Enforcement Team and the local Forestry Commission, took part in an operation targeting off-road motorbike use on our common land.

We deployed vehicles, bicycles and a drone to actively patrol the area to enforce road traffic laws and common land byelaws in order to keep safe those who use our vast green space for leisure, exercise and enjoyment.

Across the weekend, a number of warning letters have been issued to people coming from out of area in the belief that Bramshill can be used for motocross. On this occasion no motorbikes were seen on Yateley Common and the incidents were isolated towards the Elvetham Estate.

We understand the frustration for motorbike users that there are few areas for them to ride their bikes lawfully, however common land in Hart is not the place to do so. Off-road mechanically propelled vehicles can only be ridden lawfully on private land with the consent of the land owner.

We will continue to actively target our green spaces in order to keep everyone safe – whether it’s off-road vehicle users who put themselves at risk, dog walkers, horse riders, cyclists, and everyone else.

Stay safe,

PC 27999 Ben Blundell,

Designated Neighbourhood Officer for Yateley, Blackwater and Hawley.
