Good evening,
Police would like to make you aware of two burglary incidents which have taken place on Farm View, Yateley, on Thursday 27th February 2025.
A further report has also been received of two males approaching an address on Cranford Park Drive a short distance away however not gaining access to the property.
Do you have any information that would assist an investigation? Have you sighted anyone suspicious that we need to know about? Do you have footage of anyone approaching your address on the evening of Thursday 27th February? Contact 101 or visit our website and make a report using occurrence number 44250090577.
Over the past two months there has been a sharp rise in dwelling burglaries in Yateley, Blackwater and Hawley, with seven recorded in January and a further five in February. Across Hart as a whole, there’s been eighteen dwelling burglaries in January and nine more in February. We usually see this rise after Christmas as criminals have run out of money after the holiday period. We’ve agreed with local councillors to make this a community priority and pass you more information about how to keep your home safe from criminals.
In the vast majority of burglaries, offenders are targeting cash and jewellery. Gone are the days of a burglar leaving a target address with a computer or television as these are now far too easy to track – burglars will now take items that they know are either untraceable, or easy to move on.
If you hold large amount of cash in your property, please make sure that you bank it as soon as possible in order to protect it should you become a victim of burglary. If you have high value jewellery or watches, invest in a safe which is Secured by Design rated and ensure that it is firmly mounted to a wall rather than being loose in the bottom of a cupboard or wardrobe.
If you have a camera doorbell, make sure it’s always fully charged or invest in one that is hard wired and so always powered on.
Make sure to log any high value items on www.Immobilise.com, which we use to search should we find lost or stolen property to return it to it's owner.
If you’d like further advice or information, feel free to pop me a reply to this message.
Stay safe,
PC 27999 Ben Blundell, Designated Neighbourhood Officer for Yateley, Blackwater and Hawley.
