Rural Times - March 2025 Edition

Good morning,

The latest edition of Rural Times has now been published to our website, which you can view here: https://www.hampshire.police.uk/SysSiteAssets/media/downloads/hampshire/advice/rural-times/2025/rural-times---march-2025.pdf

This edition focuses on more proactive police efforts to maintain a visible presence in isolated rural areas, and proactively deter and disrupt rural criminals in the county. In addition to highlighting issues of livestock worrying as we head into spring.

There is input from the Joint Unit for Waste Crime and Hampshire County Council regarding fly-tipping and other waste crime.

Forestry England have highlighted a recent success story around growing numbers of woodlark in the New Forest – a ground nesting bird species that is susceptible to disturbance, so remember to not stray from tracks and paths in the New Forest during breeding season!

The Ringwood & Poulner Toad patrol volunteers have also highlighted the work they do to keep migrating amphibians safe in the New Forest.

And there are many more rural policing updates to read!
