Witness appeal following serious assault in Woolston

Officers are appealing for witnesses and information following reports of a serious assault in Woolston.

We received reports of a collision involving a car and a man in his 30s on Inkerman Road, at the junction with Oak Road, at around 12.45am on Monday 17 March.

The man was knocked to the ground before four men exited the vehicle and assaulted him. The victim was stabbed in the leg and suffered serious leg injuries which required hospital treatment.

The men who were in the vehicle are described as being white, of average height and in their late teens / early 20s. It is believed they may have been in a dark coloured Ford Fiesta-type car.

Since this was reported to us, officers have been carrying out various enquiries and are now appealing for witnesses.

Were you in the area at the time? Did you witness the incident? Do you have any dashcam, doorbell or CCTV images that could help our enquiries?

Anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting 44250116316.
