A man has been charged with a number of shoplifting offences in Basingstoke.

Officers received reports that items worth more than £1,000 were stolen from One Stop on Shakespeare Road between 11 March and 24 March.

The stolen products included food, alcohol, energy drinks, confectionary and household items.

Officers launched an investigation and made an arrest yesterday (25 March).

Marc Long, 36, of Glamis Close, Oakley, has since been charged with 11 counts of theft from a shop.

He is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court today (26 March).
