Basingstoke officers secure partial closure order as they continue to clamp down on ASB

Officers from Basingstoke’s Priority Crime Team have secured a partial closure order on a property in the town as they continue to clamp down on anti-social behaviour.

Basingstoke Magistrates Court was yesterday (25 March) presented with evidence of anti-social behaviour and drug-related activity at the property on Baynard Close.

The partial closure order was granted and it now means that no-one other than those authorised on the court order will be allowed to enter or remain at the addresses for the next three months.

If they do, they will be committing a criminal offence and can be arrested.

The order was obtained following partnership work with our officers, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, and the relevant housing association.

Basingstoke’s Priority Crime Team Police Sergeant Karla Leese said: "These types of closures are never a step which is taken lightly, and they are never simple.

"Yet in instances like these, we will do all we can to stop anti-social behaviour and drug-related activity and the enormous impact it creates.

"Our officers will continue to do everything they can to help prevent anti-social behaviour in Basingstoke and Deane."
