Man and teenager charged in connection with Winchester burglary


Officers investigating reports of a burglary in Winchester have now charged a man and a teenager – bringing the number of those charged in connection with the incident to three.

We were called at 6.12am on 12 March to a report that a car had been stolen from an address on Andover Road North after entry was forced to the property to steal the keys.

It was also reported that entry was forced to a garage at a neighbouring address and two vehicles were reportedly rummaged through.

Officers launched an investigation and charged a man on 13 March. Two people, a man and a teenager, were also charged last night (31 March).

Landon Searles, 20, of no fixed abode, and a 17-year-old boy from Portsmouth have been charged with burglary dwelling – with intent to steal x 2 and theft of a motor vehicle x 2.

The additional charges relate to a report of a burglary at an address on Winchester Road, Bishop’s Waltham, on 10 March. Keys were taken from inside the property and a Mercedes car was stolen.

Searles and the teenager are due to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court today (1 April).

It comes after Mickey Kimber, 18, of All Saints Road in Portsmouth, was charged with burglary, theft of motor vehicle, and vehicle interference in connection with the Winchester incident.

He appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates Court on 13 March and was remanded into custody. He is next due to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on 14 April.
