A dispersal order is currently in place as officers work to tackle an increase in reports of anti-social behaviour on Shirley High Street and in Shirley precinct.
Over the past two weeks we have seen an increase in reports of a group of teenagers acting in an anti-social manner in the area.
In response to this, officers have implemented a dispersal order under Section 34 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 to cover the area pictured in the attached map from 12pm today (Thursday 3 April). This will remain in place for 48 hours until 12pm on Saturday (5 April).
In addition to the order, officers will also be out and about in the area carrying out dedicated patrols to help tackle and disrupt the issue. We are currently out in the Shirley High Street and Shirley precinct area and our patrols will continue over the coming days.
Dispersal orders enable police to deal with any issues of ASB in a directed area more effectively, and give our officers the power to order a person to leave the area with no return within the specified time period. Those who refuse to comply with the order are committing a criminal offence and are liable for arrest.
Anyone with any questions, information or concerns is asked to approach patrolling officers or call us on 101. | ||||
