Drugs, cash and weapons seized by police in Gosport over the past week

Police in Gosport have been busy over the last few days targeting people and addresses suspected to be involved in drugs supply.

On 27 March, officers from Gosport NPT, the Priority Crime Team and the Neighbourhood Enforcement Team carried out a warrant at an address in Lanyard Drive.

Some cash, a large quantity of suspected Class A drugs, cannabis, drugs paraphernalia and a knuckleduster were all seized by police.

Three people were subsequently arrested, and remain under investigation:

• An 18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

• An 18-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

• A 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of cannabis with intent to supply, and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.

On Monday 31 March, teams conducted another warrant, this time in Tukes Avenue. A small quantity of cannabis was located on this occasion, and a 20-year-old man was arrested in the address.

Then today, officers conducted a further warrant in Lees Lane where they located and seized some swords.

This kind of police activity forms part of our ongoing efforts to tackle issues around drugs and weapons in Gosport.

Please keep reporting information about drugs supply in your neighbourhood to us. Every piece of information you give us helps us understand the scale of the problem, the areas affected, and ultimately who is involved.

You can do this by calling 101, or submitting information online here: https://www.hampshire.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/af/how-to-report-a-crime/

We don’t want drug dealing in our town, and we know our communities don’t want it either. Proactive police efforts such as warrants help us disrupt those we suspect of being involved in supply, as well as develop the intelligence picture around drug dealing networks.
