Two men arrested in connection with robbery and attempt robbery at Southampton stores


Officers investigating two reported incidents at stores in Southampton on Wednesday 19 March have arrested two men.

A 33-year-old from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of attempt robbery, while a 41-year-old from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

The arrests, made yesterday, follow reported incidents at One Stop, Park Road at approximately 8.40pm and Hops & Grapes, Shirley Road at around 10.20pm.

During the first incident, it’s reported that staff were threatened with what was believed to have been a knife.

During the second incident, later the same evening, staff reported being threatened by someone suggesting they had a knife in their possession.

Nothing was taken and nobody was injured on either occasion.

Both arrested men remain in police custody at this time.
