Man, 22, arrested after officers find drugs and cash during proactive stop in Basingstoke


A man has been arrested after officers located cannabis and cash following a proactive stop in Basingstoke in the early hours of this morning.

Officers were patrolling the town when they noticed suspicious activity linked to a Skoda Octavia on Gower Close at around 1am on Wednesday 9 April.

A search was carried out and officers located cannabis and £255 in cash. All items, including the vehicle, were seized at the scene.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and using a vehicle without third party insurance.

He remains in custody while our enquiries continue.
