Operation centred on a zero tolerance approach to offences

Hi Resident

If you find this information helpful please “rate” this message at the bottom (very quick and simple).

225 driving offences were identified on Thursday/Friday last week as part of a two day enforcement operation.

The operation centred on a zero tolerance approach to offences on the road network, with a particular focus on ‘Fatal Four’ issues - of which a significant number were identified.

Fatal Four refers to the driving habits that pose the greatest risk of leading to a serious or fatal collision, and include drink/drug driving, driving without a seatbelt, speeding, and mobile phone use whilst driving.

Officers also dealt with other issues such as drivers with no insurance or no licence, cannabis possession, and insecure loads (pictured).
