A man has been arrested after officers located suspected Class A drugs following a proactive stop in Basingstoke in the early hours of this morning. Officers were patrolling the town when they noticed a Nissan car being driven with only one working headlight. The vehicle made a sharp turn onto Flaxfield Road at around 1.30am today (8 May) and later stopped on Mortimer Lane. Due to suspicious circumstances at the scene, officers carried out a search and located multiple bags of suspected Class A drugs. A 28-year-old man from Basingstoke was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A and driving with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit. He remains in custody while our enquiries continue. | ||||
