Man arrested after officers find drugs during proactive stop in Basingstoke


A man has been arrested after officers located suspected Class A drugs following a proactive stop in Basingstoke.

Officers were patrolling the town when they noticed suspicious activity linked to a Skoda Octavia on Carpenters Down at around 3.45pm on Monday 26 May.

The car stopped on Shakespeare Road, and due to suspicious circumstances at the scene, a search was carried out.

Officers located seven bags of suspected Class A drugs and packets of cannabis. All items were seized at the scene.

A 21-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A and Class B. He has been bailed, pending further enquiries.
