Woman, 38, sentenced after admitting Bursledon shopliftings


A 38-year-old woman from Southampton has been sentenced after admitting to two counts of shoplifting.

Helen Majorie Leahy, of Millbrook Road West, pleaded guilty to the offences when she appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday 28 April.

She was sentenced at the same court last Friday (27 June).

It followed thefts from One Stop, Portsmouth Road, Bursledon on Saturday 15 February and Thursday 20 February

Leahy received an 18-month community order, with 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

She has also been ordered to pay a total of £520 in compensation.
