Local Priorities Theft - (shoplifting, personal, other) Update

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Theft - (shoplifting, personal, other), which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

A 46-year-old man from Pennington has today (Friday 11 July) pleaded guilty to multiple shopliftings and one count of assault by beating.

James Dempsey, of Efford Way, admitted the offences when he appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning.

He was remanded in custody to next appear at the same court for sentencing on Friday 1 August.

The incidents occurred at various stores in Lymington between Wednesday 4 June and Wednesday 9 July.

The shops in question were Holland & Barrett on High Street, Shell on Milford Road, Waitrose on Stanford Road and Morrisons Daily on Milford Road.
