Bursledon man, 62, further remanded in custody following attempted murder charges |

A 62-year-old man from Bursledon has been further remanded in custody after being charged with two counts of attempted murder and one of assaulting a person causing them ABH-level injuries. David James Weir, of Cedar Close, appeared again at Portsmouth Crown Court on Wednesday (14 January). He was further remanded in custody to next appear at Southampton Crown Court on Monday 9 February. The charges followed reports of a domestic-related assault at an address off Hamble Lane shortly before 3am on Sunday (11 January). A woman in her 20s from the New Forest was taken to hospital with stab wounds to her chest and arm, while a man in his 20s from Bursledon was taken to hospital with stab wounds to his head and shoulder. Their injuries are not currently considered life threatening or life changing and both have been released from hospital. A third person, a woman aged in her 50s and from Bursledon, was treated for minor injuries.
