Petersfield NPT Community Update!
Good Morning East Hants,
You haven’t heard from me before but I am PC Rowan, usually I am based in the East Hants District Policing Team, however for the next few weeks I am joining the Petersfield Neighbourhood Policing Team on an attachment.
This last week I have accompanied PCSO Almy for Dot Peen. For those who don’t know Dot Peen is a free service we offer where you can get your tools and machinery engraved by us. The Dot Peen machine works by permanently engraving a unique code into your property, then registering it with us to allow you to keep track of your serial numbers and so that if the worst should happen and you find them stolen we have a better chance at identifying them when we find them and returning them to their rightful owners.
On the 20th PCSO Almy and I went to two local farms and marked up a variety of tools and machinery. It was a pleasure to speak to the farmers and find out what all of the various bits of machinery did around the farm as well as what local issues they are currently facing. PCSO Almy and PC Hannah have also attended Queen Elizabeth Country Park on the 18th for Dot Peen where again they have marked up a selection of their tools. If you are in the local area and have tools and machinery you wish to get marked then contact PCSO Almy to arrange a time we can get out to you and get this done.
Furthermore, on the 18th and 19th PC Hannah and PCSO Almy have been on a walkabout in the Clanfield and Rowlands Castle area speaking to local residents and enjoying the sun finishing up at the lovely Bumblebee café.
In other news, PC Hannah and I have been out and about the community with our speed gun. On the 24th we conducted speed checks on Southdown Road in Clanfield as well as Manor Lodge Road in Rowlands Castle. Almost all motorists were compliant within the speed limit, however one ticket was issued for excess speed on Manor Lodge Road and words of advice were given to another.
On the 26th we were out with the speed gun again, this time on Love Lane in Petersfield. Within just a few minutes we identified a vehicle speeding, the driver was pulled over and was found to also be driving without insurance. The driver was given a ticket for the speeding and has been reported for summons for driving without insurance and the vehicle was seized. We will be conducting more speed checks going forward to ensure our roads are being kept safe!
I hope you all continue to enjoy the lovely weather we have been having and if you see us out and about please stop us and say hello, we love speaking to you all and finding out what issues you are currently facing in the local area.
