Theft From Motor Vehicles Overnight 

We have received reports of theft from motor vehicles overnight in Potts Close and Grebe Close.

Thank you to everyone who has already reported these incidents. Your information helps us build a clearer picture of what has happened and supports our ongoing enquiries.

At this stage, it may be possible that a signal jamming device has been used to prevent vehicles locking correctly. While enquiries are ongoing and this has not been confirmed, we would like to reassure residents that we are investigating all available lines of enquiry and reviewing any information or CCTV that may assist.

If you have CCTV, doorbell footage, or witnessed anything suspicious in either area between the evening of Saturday 12th September and early hours of this morning, please get in touch.

How to protect your vehicle

✅ Always physically check your vehicle is locked before walking away. Don't rely solely on the key fob.
✅ Remove all valuables from sight, including bags, wallets, mobile phones, tools, and loose change.
✅ Never leave vehicle documents or spare keys inside the vehicle.
✅ Park in a well-lit area where possible.
✅ Consider using additional security devices such as steering wheel locks and CCTV.
✅ Keep keyless entry fobs away from doors and windows and consider storing them in a signal-blocking pouch.
✅ Report any suspicious behaviour around parked vehicles immediately.

We understand incidents like these can cause concern within the community. Please be reassured that neighbourhood officers are aware of the reports and will continue to work with residents to gather information and prevent further offences.
